Israeli army demands evacuation of Indonesian hospital in Gaza

The Israeli army has called for the evacuation of the Indonesian hospital in the northern Gaza Strip within four hours, a Palestinian Ministry of Health official said.

The Israeli army wants to enter the hospital for “military operations” and is therefore demanding its evacuation within four hours, Ministry of Health Director General Dr. Mounir Al-Borsh told Al Jazeera.

“The Indonesian hospital has been besieged by the Israeli army and that continuous strikes are being launched in its vicinity, noting that around 200 people are currently hospitalized and 450 patients left the hospital,” Al-Borsh explained.

“There are 65 bodies in the hospital that could not be buried, including 50 waiting in the hospital garden for more than 10 days,” added Al-Borsh.

Israel has been launching continuous air and ground attacks in the Gaza Strip since October 7, following a surprise cross-border attack by the Palestinian resistance group Hamas.

The number of people killed since then in Israeli air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip has risen to 14,532, including more than 6,000 children and 4,000 women, the besieged enclave’s media office said on Wednesday.

The Israeli death toll stands at around 1,200, according to official figures.
