A young woman allegedly poisoned her 11-month-old baby to death in Logo Local Government Area, Benue State, Nigeria.
“The woman has fed the baby witht a substance suspected to be a chemical,” according to reports.
“She was impregnated by her boyfriend and after she gave birth to a baby girl, the boy abandoned her with the child,” according to the suspect.
“She had been suffering with the child and that was why she poisoned her by giving her chemical that is used to spray grasses,” she added.
“The suspect was caught when she tried to bury the baby by the neighbors,” reports said.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Benue State Command, SP Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident while the suspect has been arrested.
