Body of alleged homos3xual exhumed and burned

The body of a deceased young man was exhumed and burned by a group of individuals in Touba in Senega, according to reports.

The body of the victim, who died last week, had been buried by his family in Senegal’s second largest city. However, individuals went to the cemetery in search of his grave, identified him, and desecrated his grave by burning his body in public, in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd.

“This barbaric act was perpetrated because of the deceased’s alleged homos3xu3lle orientation,” reports said.

The Senegalese authorities reacted firmly, describing the act as “extremely serious” and “barbaric”.

Senegal’s public prosecutor immediately launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the exhumation and cremation of the body, presumed to be that of a homos3xu3l.

Senegal has a predominantly Muslim population, and homos3xuality is considered an offence punishable by one to five years imprisonment under the country’s current laws.

The opening of the investigation aims to identify the perpetrators of this heinous act so that they can be brought to justice to answer for their actions.

This act of violence raises concerns about respect for human rights and individual dignity in Senegal.
