Lionel Messi won his 8th Ballon d’Or at the Ballon d’Or 2023 awards ceremony held at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.

At the age of 36, Lionel Messi won the prestigious award for the 8th time.

The Argentine star is ahead of Norway’s Erling Haaland (2nd) and France’s Kylian Mbappé (3rd).

The Argentinian enjoyed an exceptional 2022-2023 season, with the 2022 World Cup as his crowning glory, during which he finished as the tournament’s best player.

The Argentine star also won Ligue 1 with PSG.
