Man falls into pit latrine while retrieving phone

A 29-year-old man fell into a pit latrine as he tried to retrieve a mobile phone in Emakwale area, Kakamega, kenya, according to reports.

“A man went to relieve himself inside a pit latrine when his mobile fell into the pit latrine,” according to reports.

“The deceased had offered to get into the latrine that was in use to retrieve a C31 mobile phone that had dropped therein,” reports said.

“He slid and fell in there drowning in the human waste,” it stated.

Officials from Kakamega County Fire Brigade were called and managed to retrieve the body.

The body was washed and taken to a local mortuary pending autopsy and further probe.
