Chief arrested over attempted sodomy of a boy

Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested the chief of New Akrofuom for attempting to sodomise a 17-year-old boy in the Adansi Asokwa district, Ghana.

“The chief entered the teenager’s room with the intention of engaging in the act with him, but the boy alerted some residents,” reports said.

“The chief upon sensing danger fled but the irate residents went to his residence and attempted to lynch him,” it stated.

“The suspect went to collect a phone from the teenage boy and was attacked by some youth who accused him of attempting to sodomise the boy,” he told Adom News.

The timely intervention of the police saved him from the attackers and took him into custody.

The boy’s mother and the Assembly member, Emmanuel Akyerem both confirmed the incident and said the case was being handled by the Fomena police.

The Assembly member revealed that, the chief had previously been accused of a similar act.
