Schools burned by opponents of a sex education course

Belgian justice opened an investigation this Wednesday for “arson”, after fires broke out during the night in four schools targeted by opponents of a sex education course.

The events occurred in Charleroi (south of the country).

“In the four schools, at the nursery and primary level, registrations were discovered hostile to this school program which had just been officially adopted by decree,” said Vincent Fiasse, city prosecutor, who is leading the investigation.

“No Evras”, mentioned black inscriptions on several walls, according to images from Belgian television.

An acronym which refers to “Education for relational, emotional and sexual life”, a two-hour course per year, for two age groups, intended to answer students’ questions on these sensitive subjects.
