Tenant bites off neighbor’s ear over electricity bill

A 39-year-old female tenant bit off the right ear of her neighbour during an argument on the electricity bill in the Igode area of the Ogun State, Ngeria.

“The electricity distribution company servicing the area disconnected the house where both tenants live over a pending issue,” according to reports.

To ensure that the issue was resolved and power restored, residents were said to have saddled the victim with the task of collecting N500 from each tenant in the house for reconnection.

Other tenants paid the levy except the suspect who was said to have been having troubles with the victim.

“An argument between the two tenants ensued, and before the other tenants could intervene, the woman approached him and bit off his right ear,” according eyewitness.

“The suspect has been arrested while the victim is currently receiving treatment at the hospital,” according to reports.

The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
