A 55-year-old fetish priest had killed himself after shooting his long-time companion in a nearby bush in Ejisu-Juaben, in Ghana’s Ashanti region.
“The man and his girlfriend have been dating for some time now but their relationship had suffered problems in recent times,” according to eyewitness.
“The man had been complaining that his girlfriend had been denying him sex so he suspected that she was cheating,” according to reports.
“The lady surprisingly survived the gunshot and was treated at a medical center in the Ashanti region,” according to reports.
The sound of the shot drew people to the scene, who rushed to the fetish priest to snatch the weapon.
The man, sensing the danger, took to his heels and shot himself in the bush.
“The body has since been deposited in a morgue”, reports said.
