Telegram channels linked to Wagner confirm Prigojine’s death

Several Telegram channels linked to Wagner group have confirmed the death of Evguéni Prigojine, co-founder of the paramilitary group, while his body has not been officially identified at the crash site.

“Head of the Wagner Group, Hero of Russia, true patriot of his homeland, Yevgeny Prigojine, died as a result of the actions of traitors to Russia,” one commented.

The Federal Air Transport Agency has released the names of the passengers of the plane that crashed north of Moscow. It says, Yevgeny Prigojine was indeed on board the plane.

Dmitri Utkin, co-founder of Wagner, is also on this list.

Russian authorities have opened an investigation to establish the causes of this tragedy.

“A team of investigators was sent to the scene (…) to establish the causes of the accident,” the Russian Investigation Committee said in a statement.
