Nigeria: four men on trial for assault

Four men were arraigned before the Yaba Magistrate’s Court for assaulting and injuring a man on his right shoulder with a gun over a disputed land in Lagos, Nigeria.

The defendants were arraigned on five counts of assault, forcible entry and threat to life, reports said.

“The defendants armed with weapons visited the victim and used a gun to injure his right shoulder,” the prosecutor, Rita Momoh said.

The magistrate ordered that the defendants be kept in police custody while the police duplicate and send the file to the DPP for legal advice.
