The leader of the Russian Wagner mercenaries, Yevgeny Prigojine, published this Monday, his first video since he took the lead of a short-lived mutiny at the end of June.
He appears in a recording – probably shot in Africa – on Telegram channels affiliated with the Wagner Group.
We can see him standing in a desert area, in camouflage and a rifle in his hand. In the distance, we see other armed men and a van.
Several international media relayed this video but none could confirm its date of recording or the location of the site where it was shot.
“The temperature is over 50 degrees – everything is going as we wish. The paramilitary group Wagner makes Russia even greater on all continents, and Africa more free. Justice and happiness – for the people of Africa, we let’s make life a nightmare for the Islamic State and Al-Qaeda and other bandits,” Yevgeny Prigozhin says in the video.
