Hospital performs successful surgery on Siamese twin

Chad is making great strides in terms of surgery as a medical team from the Mother and Child Hospital successfully performed an operation on Siamese twins.

“We’ve dealt with fake Siamese twins before. That is, one of the Siamese twins is not complete and lives at the expense of the other, so it’s a parasite,” explained Dr Olivier Ngaringuem.

“Both are stable, no fever, the pain is under control because there’s a team coming in every six hours to assess the pain and do the anthalgias,” the doctor said.

“This is the first time Chad has achieved such a feat in medicine as the birth of Siamese twins is a rare event,” according to specialists.

“Siamese twins occur in one hundred and fifty thousand live births,” they say.

In the past, the Mother and Child Hospital has separated five false Siamese twins.

In these cases, “when the separation is carried out, automatically the life of one stops and the other continues”.
