Gynecologist sentenced to 20 years for sexually assaulting his patients

A federal court in Manhattan has sentenced a former gynecologist accused of sexual assault by dozens of patients to 20 years in prison.

Robert Hadden, who has not practiced since 2012, was described as “a predator in a white coat” by Manhattan federal prosecutor Damian Williams during his trial in January.

Judge Richard Berman, who handed down the judgment, said the case was “unlike any other”, calling the assaults “horrible” and “depraved”, US broadcaster ABC reported.

“After serving his sentence, the doctor will be placed on parole until the end of his life,” said a spokesman for the prosecution.
