“We are not Amazon” UK Defense minister launches to Zelensky

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said on Wednesday that the UK is “no Amazon” when it comes to supplying arms to Ukraine.

This spade is addressed to the Ukrainian president who, according to London kyiv, could show more “gratitude” towards his allies.

“This war is a noble war (…) but sometimes you have to convince parliamentarians in the United States. You have to convince politicians who in other countries are wondering if it’s worth it,” said Ben Wallace , on the sidelines of the NATO summit.

“Like it or not, people want to see gratitude,” he added, recalling that “countries give up their own stockpiles (of ammunition)” to help Ukraine.

For the Ukrainian president, this sentence does not make much sense. “I don’t know what he (Wallace) meant and how I could be grateful to him”, replied Volodymyr Zelensky, acknowledging that “the British people have always supported us. We are very grateful to them”.

Turning to his defense minister, Oleksiy Reznikov, president Zelensky asked with a laugh to send “words of gratitude” to Ben Wallace.
