A man stabs his wife for asking a divorce

A man attacked his 39-year-old wife with a machete when she asked for divorce in Pankese, in the Birim North district of Ghana’s Eastern Region, according to reports.

The suspect attacked his victim in the evening when she was fetching water.

“The couple had been having some misunderstandings for some time,” according to Adom News.

But things took unexpected turn after the victim attacked his wife for asking for a divorce.

“The victim has since been sent to the hospital and is in critical condition,” according to eyewitness.

“The suspect has been arrested by police,” reports said.

Community members have asked that the suspect be dealt with according to the law.
