Nigeria: several people beheaded in an attack

Suspected armed herdsmen killed about 18 people in another attack on the Iye community in Uvir Ward of Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria.

“The assailants have stormed the community when the residents were transacting business on the market day,” reports said.

“Women and children were beheaded and  their remains burnt alongside their houses and food barns,” it stated.

Other affected persons sustained varying degrees of injuries during the attack.

“Seven corpses were recovered from the scene of the attack,” according to the Benue State Commissioner of Police, Mr Julius Alawari.
