Migrants bullied at Europe’s borders

The U.S. newspaper New York Times published images showing how Greek authorities treat migrants at their borders as they are crammed into an inflatable boat and delivered to the sea until Turkish coast guards take them in.

These videos show a violation of international law.

The testimonies of Somali, Ethiopian and Eritrean migrants who were victims of the operation, have prompted the European Commissioner in charge of the dossier to call for “a full and independent investigation”.

NGOs and specialized media such as Lighthouse Reports have denounced these events, which took place on the Greek island of Lesbos.
