Woman arrested for burning her niece with an iron

A nine-year-old girl was burnt with a hot-pressing iron by her aunt with whom she lived for two years at Ho New Housing, Ghana, reports said.

“The victim was asked to sell soya kebab on the street every morning before going to school,” reports said.

“She was subjected to various forms of  physical torture by her paternal aunt for not making good sales”.

The torture has taken an extreme as she was accused of stealing from the money she made by her aunt.

“She grabbed a hot pressing iron and burnt the legs and hand of the girl who bore the excruciating pain in silence,” reports said.

One of the burns was very close to her private part.

The victim undergoes medical examination at the Ho Teaching Hospital.

The suspect was arrested by the police and investigation is ongoing.
