Man convicted of deflowering 12-year-old girl

A 26-year-old automobile technician was sentenced to life imprisonment by an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court for defiling his neighbor’s 12-year-old daughter in Nigeria.

“The convict had sex with the minor repeatedly whenever he called her to come and watch a film on his phone in his room,” according to Justice Abiola Soladoye.

“The prosecution had proven all three elements of pedophilia, namely that the child was a minor, that the accused had sexual relations with her, and that the child’s consent was not determinative,” she stated.

The judge handed down the verdict after finding him guilty of the offense of defilement of a minor.

“Upon careful review of the evidence before the court, the defendant is hereby found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment,” the judge said.
