Three sentenced to life imprisonment for murder

Father appears in court for beating his son with a cutlass

The Assin Fosu District Court has remanded a 34-year-old man in custody for subjecting his son to mutilation and torture after catching him at a gaming center in Ghana.

“The father started to discipline the child right at the game center before extending the assault home,” the Chief Inspector Benjamin Doe Kuwornu said.

The child could no longer endure the pain he used his both hands to grab the cutlass.

“He then pulled the cutlass that ended up slashing both palms before binding his hands and legs and brushing him with ground pepper, after which the suspect laid him down in the blazing sun,” he added.

A passerby who saw the cruel act being unleashed on the child rushed to the police station to file a complaint, causing his arrest.

The suspect was put before the court and pleaded guilty with an explanation.

The court ordered that a psychiatric examination be conducted on the suspect.
