A man beats his ex-wife to death with a pestle

A 56-year-old man has been arrested for beating his 38-year-old ex-wife to death a day before her wedding to her new suitor in Yola South Local Government Area, Nigeria.

“The suspect had been involved in a long marital conflict with the deceased as they both agreed to separate,” according to police reports.

“He become jealous after he learnt that his estranged wife would be getting married,” according to the suspect.

The suspect hit her with a pestle as a result of which she fell unconscious.

“The deceased was later pronounced dead,” reports said.

“The suspect has been arrested and would be prosecuted after diligent prosecution,” according to the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje.
