US president Joe Biden, now 80, has announced he is “a candidate for re-election” in a bid to “finish the job”.
Joe Biden announced his candidacy for re-election in 2024 on Tuesday in a message and a video posted on his social networks.
“Every generation has a time when they have to stand up for democracy. To stand up for their basic freedoms. I believe it is ours,” he wrote, launching his campaign.
“That’s why I’m running for re-election as President of the United States. Join us. Let’s get the job done,” added the US President.
