Ukrainian president accused of embezzling at least $400 million

American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh claimed on his website that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his entourage embezzled at least $400 million in funds transferred to kyiv for the purchase of fuel.

“The President of Ukraine and many of his inner circle skimmed millions of US dollars from diesel fuel payments. An estimate by Central Intelligence Agency analysts put the embezzled funds at $400 million last year, in less,” he said.

According to the journalist, the level of corruption in Kyiv “approaches that of the war in Afghanistan, although no professional audit report will emerge from Ukraine”.

Last February, an investigation, published on his same blog, had blamed the sabotage of Nord Stream on the United States and made Moscow and Washington react strongly.

The working methods of Seymour Hersh, yet an emblematic figure of investigation in the United States, have been controversial for several years.
