Guinea: Death of Alpha Conde’s wife

Alpha Conde lost his wife, Djéné Kaba, the former first lady of Guinea, as a result of an illness, according to reports.

A real shock for the former Guinean president, overthrown on September 5, 2021 during a putsch led by the military junta in power.

In a statement, the president of the transition, Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya regrets the loss of “a great lady of conviction, of an overflowing humanism, who worked with all his possibilities to bring a special touch to the emancipation of Guinean women and the protection of young children.”

But, according to a note attributed to Alpha Conde, and consulted by APA, the latter who is in Turkey, would have expressed his wish to the French embassy, “not to involve the Guinean authorities in the funeral of his wife.”

It should be recalled that Alpha Conde and Djene Kaba were married in the inter-round of the 2010 presidential election.

The two did not have offspring. But Djéné Conde is the mother of two girls and a boy from her first marriage.
