An Ikeja Chief Magistrate Court has remanded a 27-year-old man for defiling a nine-month-old baby belonging to a neighbor in the Ijora-Badia area of Lagos, Nigeria.
“The 16-year-old mother of the baby had her child in the care of the suspect to buy noodles not too far from her home,” according to the prosecution counsel, DSP Kehinde Ajayi.
“The offence was committed on March 23, 2023, at the White Sand area, Ijora-Badia, Lagos,” he added.
The victim was charged with defilement.
“The offense contravened the provisions of Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,” the prosecutor said.
