Farmer jailed 20 years for sexually abusing 6-year-old girl

A 26-year-old farmer has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for abusing a six-year-old girl at Agbogbloshie in Accra, Ghana, reports said.

“The victim had gone to play with her friends at where the suspect lived,” reports said.

The suspect lured the victim into his room, undressed the victim and had sex with her.

“After the act, he warned the victim not to tell her parents,” the victim said.

“The victim couldn’t walk when she reached home and she confessed about what happened”, according to her mother.

A report was made to the Domestic Violence and Victim’s Support Unit (DOVVSU) in the Greater Accra region.

The mother of the victim was given a Police medical for examination and treatment.

The suspect was arrested and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.
