Robbers shoot three policemen at Lagos checkpoint

Three policemen were shot by robbers as they have mounted a roadlock on Freeman Street in the Ebute Metta area of Lagos State, Nigeria, reports said.

“The robbers were trying to connect the street to exit the community when they encountered the policemen who were conducting a stop-and-search,” reports said.

In the process, they stepped out of their vehicle, shot the three policemen and left with their rifles.

“The policemen were shot and their rifles were no longer with them. They have always used that spot as a checkpoint because the place has some dark spots where hoodlums carry out criminal activities,” resident said.

The policemen were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Ebute Metta as they were badly injured.
