Ruth Carter wins the Oscar again this year 2023 for dressing the cast of the saga’s sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The imagination and ingenuity of the costume designer of the Black Panther films were rewarded at the 95th Academy Awards.
“Oh, listen! I got out of it. I started out in a single-parent home. I wanted to be a costume designer. I studied, I slaved, I faced adversity in an industry that sometimes didn’t look like me and I endured,” Ruth Carter in her acceptance speech.
“So I think this win opens the door for other young costume designers who may not think this is the industry for them and I hope they see me, they see my story and they think they can win an Oscar too,” she added.
