At least four dead after explosion of a house in Switzerland

Four bodies were found in a Swiss family villa ravaged by a fire and an explosion Thursday in Yverdon-les-Bains, said the Vaud cantonal police (west), still looking for a child.

The police were notified that an explosion had sounded in the building, followed by a fire.

At the time of the explosion, the house was occupied by several people. Four victims were found dead in the rubble, according to a press release from the Vaud police.

“A child is still wanted,” it said, indicating that the building was completely destroyed by the flames.

According to the regional newspaper 24 Hours, a family of five lived in the house.

The causes of the accident are undetermined at this time.
