A 37-year-old man hacked his 100-year-old grandmother to death using an axe in Hamburg, Germany, according to report.
“A cervical cord severing caused by sharp and blunt force was the cause of death,” according to the preliminary autopsy.
An axe was found at the crime scene as an element of suspicion.
During a reconstruction of the autopsy, coroners found that one of the blows with the axe was carried out from behind the cervical cord, an area of the spinal cord.
The judge issued an arrest warrant against the suspect for manslaughter.
The murder investigators have not yet determined a motive for the crime.
