An appeal judge collapsed and died in Ondo

A 67-year-old Court of Appeal judge sitting in Akure, the Ondo State capital, collapsed and died in his office while dressing for a court session, Nigeria.

“All attempts to revive him proved abortive as he gave up the ghost on the way to the hospital,” reports said.

The immediate past Chairman of the Akure branch of the Nigeria Bar Association, Mr Rotimi Olorunfemi, confirmed the incident.

“The judge death is true. He collapsed in the office at the Court of Appeal, Akure. He was rushed to the hospital but confirmed dead on arrival,” he said.

In a reaction, the incumbent chairman of the Akure branch of NBA, Mr Banji Ayenakin, in a statement, said the death of the justice came as a shock.
