Two dead in military helicopter crash in southern United States

A US military Black Hawk helicopter crashed in the southern United States of America on Wednesday, killing both occupants, local authorities said.

Around 3 p.m., a Black Hawk aircraft belonging to the Tennessee Air National Guard was conducting a training flight near a highway and another road, the Tennessee National Guard said.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of two Tennessee National Guardsmen,” said General Warner Ross, the state’s National Guard official.

“There were two occupants in the helicopter who died,” Madison County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Brent Patterson said in a released statement, adding that there were “no signs of survivors”.

Investigators are expected on site Wednesday and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office announced in the evening on social networks the closure of roads following the accident.
