Spain passes law allowing free sex change from age 16

Lawmakers in Spain definitively adopted this Thursday a law allowing to change gender via a simple administrative declaration from the age of 16.

This was the source of heated debates within the ruling left-wing coalition.

The text removes the obligation to provide medical reports attesting to gender dysphoria and proof of hormonal treatment followed for two years, as was the case so far for adults.
