Some assailants have shot dead a member of the Anambra State Vigilante Service attached to the Central Security, Obosi, in the Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria.
The men of the vigilante service were on a routine patrol when they ran into the hoodlums, who engaged them in a gun duel for several minutes, reports said.
During the gun battle, the gang shot dead a vigilante.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that the police had commenced a manhunt for the suspects.
It was an unfortunate incident; no arrest has been made yet, but investigation is ongoing
