Fulani herders killed in Nigeria explosion

At least 27 Fulani herders were killed in an explosion near the border between Nigeria’s central Nasarawa and Benue states on Tuesday, local media reported.

The police say they are investigating the cause of the explosion.

The area has seen frequent disputes over resources between pastoral and farming communities, the BBC reported.

The explosion may have been a botched air strike by the Nigerian military – but this has not been independently confirmed.
