A policeman shot a trader in Alaba market

A policeman shot a trader as police invaded the market to make an arrest, but was resisted by traders at Alaba Rago market in Lagos State, Nigeria.

The situation resulted in a clash between the policemen from the Okokomaiko division and the traders.

A policeman was said to have fired a shot that hit a trader, who died from the gunshot injuries.

Within the space of two months, policemen in Lagos State have been accused of killing at least six persons in the state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a post on Twitter said an investigation had commenced into the incident.
