A man jailed two years for stealing tiles and paint

A Yaba Magistrate’s Court has sentenced a 38-year-old man to two years imprisonment for stealing 221 tiles and 10 buckets of paint belonging to his employer, Nigeria, according to reports.

The convict was arrested by the police after his employer made a formal complaint to the police.

The convict, who initially pleaded not guilty to the charge, later changed his plea during trial.

The presiding magistrate, Mrs S.A. Salawu, said the prosecution proved the case beyond all reasonable doubt.

“The accused was sentenced to two years imprisonment and the prison term would run from the day of his arraignment,” according to her.
