Nigerian police arrested a woman for beheading her 11-month-old son at Ugep in the Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The circumstances of the incident could not be immediately determined.
The woman had been arrested, said the state Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Irene Ugbo,
“Investigation is ongoing to determine the reason for her act. But what we have heard is that she is mentally disturbed,” Ugbo said.
It was gathered that the police prevented a mob from lynching the woman by taking her into custody.
