Man attempted to kill himself after beating wife to death

Ghanaian police arrest a man who attempted suicide after beating his wife to death during a misunderstanding.

A neighbor also said he beat his wife until she collapsed and lost consciousness.

Suspecting she could be dead, the suspect is said to have taken a poisonous substance believed to be weedicide to end his life and escape punishment.

However, he was saved by some residents who spotted him struggling and rushed him to the Juaboso Government Hospital for immediate treatment.

The police from Sehwi Bodi, who were called to the scene, have retrieved the wife’s body and deposited it at the hospital’s morgue.

The couple have two children, a four-year-old boy and a one-year-old girl.
