The Senegalese government plans an envelope of 14 billion CFA francs to finance the participation of the national team in the world competition held in Qatar from November 21 to December 18, 2022 as the Lions of Teranga of Senegal do not have to worry anymore.
According to the information made public by the Minister of Sports, Yankhoba Diattara, this substantial envelope that the government has made available to the Lions of Teranga will be used to pay for the 327 members who make up the Senegalese delegation that will go to Qatar.
All accommodation sites, the preparation phase, the group matches and the eighth, quarter and final are already assured.
According to Minister Yankhoba Diattara, the management of the participation in this international competition will be coordinated by a steering committee.
“This committee will be in charge of the participation of the Senegalese delegation to the World Cup. Cheikh Seck, former Senegalese international will chair the committee to manage the relationship between the ministry and the national team,” he said.
The Lions of Teranga, defending African champions, is housed in a group A with Qatar, host country, Ecuador and the Netherlands.
