Nigeria: man arrested for abusing his daughters

The Ministry of Women and Social Welfare in Nigeria’s Anambra State announced the arrest of a middle-aged man separated from his wife, for abusing sexually two of his daughters.

The children are aged three and five. They were rescued and first taken to Ntasi Centre, Enugwu-Ukwu, for medical examination and treatment as they were brought to the hospital, there were fresh bruises on their private parts, the areas were also reddish and swollen.

The children confirmed that they were constantly molested by their father and they pleaded not to return to their father’s house.

The state Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, disclosed that the suspect would be prosecuted.

The suspect denied the allegation and noted that he was not aware that his children were being defiled by anyone let alone by himself as their father but rather threatened to deal with whoever made the report.
