Heavy rains recorded overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday in several regions of Algeria caused violent flooding in the wilaya of Bordj Bou Arreridj.
According to a statement from the Algerian Civil Protection, one person died, while 36 others surrounded by water were evacuated.
The floods were recorded in several municipalities of this department where heavy rains caused significant material damage: submerged houses, washed away vehicles and cut roads.
Météo Algérie forecasts, for this period, quantities of rain estimated between 20 and 40 mm.
