The English language will replace the French language from the primary cycle in Algeria, the presidency announced in a press release on Sunday.
This is the result of the work of the Council of Ministers which took place under the leadership of the Head of State, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The decision was taken “after an in-depth study carried out by experts and specialists”, according to the Algerian press agency (APS).
President Tebboune, at the same time, expressed his determination to reform the education system and revise educational programs and textbooks, the agency reported.
The president also promised to review the text of the law governing the teaching profession in the country.
