US President Joe Biden signed an executive order to protect LGBTQ+ people from laws in force in Republican-controlled states.
To this end, a reception was organized this Wednesday at the White House in honor of LGBTQ+ people.
“My message to all young people: just be who you are, you are loved. We support you,” said the American president to leaders of LGBTQ + associations.
Transport Minister Pete Buttigieg, who is gay, was also present at the place.
More than 300 laws have been introduced at the state level since January 2022 aimed at restricting the rights of gay and transgender people.
