The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned of the dangerousness of a new variant of the coronavirus, less transmissible but more serious.
The new variant is about the Middle East respiratory syndrome also called MERS.
MERS, the pathogen of Middle East respiratory syndrome, was spotted in 2012 in Saudi Arabia.
A coronavirus which manifests itself in a form of symptoms identical to the current Covid (fever, cough, diarrhea, nausea, etc.), but which is intended to be much more severe (pneumonia and kidney failure for the most serious cases).
However, MERS is much more difficult to transmit.
A favoring factor for infection is exposure to camels or dromedaries.
So far, in ten years, just over 2,500 cases and nearly 900 deaths have been recorded.
