COVID-19: Mozambique records encouraging stats since the start of the pandemic

Mozambique on Monday recorded its first day of zero Covid-19 infections since the outbreak of the disease in the country in March 2020.

The country also recorded zero Covid deaths and zero hospitalisation in 24 hours throughout the country.

“Some 18 people remain hospitalized across the country,” the health ministry said, adding that “there were no recoveries in the country in the last 24 hours.”

The ministry has attributed the zero cases to massive vaccination campaign and adherence to mask wearing, hand washing and social distancing.

The southern African country has so far recorded 225,140 infections and 2,196 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
