Two security forces in Mali have been killed in an attack on their post by suspected Islamist militants, the army said on Sunday.
Malian army said terrorists attacked Niafunké post, killing two soldiers.
Five of the jihadists were also killed in the attack.
“The toll is two dead on the FAMa (Malian Armed Forces) side and five dead on the attackers’ side,” it added.
Mali has been struggling to contain a jihadist insurgency that first emerged in 2012 and has since spread to neighboring Burkina Faso and Niger.
