Uganda: compulsory vaccination for vaccine distributor staff

The Ugandan government agency in charge of distributing Covid-19 vaccines to government health facilities has told all staff and visitors to present proof they’re fully vaccinated.

In a statement, the National Medical Stores said anyone who is not fully vaccinated must show a negative PCR test, taken within the past 72 hours, to be allowed to enter their premises.

Those affected by the orders include directors of public hospitals, pharmacists, suppliers as wells donors, and politicians.

Health Minister Jane Ruth Aceng on Wednesday partly blamed the slow uptake on accessibility, inadequate vaccines in certain areas, few vaccination points as well as hesitancy.
