Zimbabwe: civil workers ordered to get vaccinated or quit

Government in Zimbabwe has ordered all civil workers to get vaccinated against the coronavirus pandemic. It said those who will not get jabbed should resign.

According to the government, this measure aims to curb the spread of the new Delta variant.

In an interview with a local radio station, Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi says that employees who think they have a right to choose whether or not they can be vaccinated have it all wrong.

The government previously introduced a new regulation for churches and restaurants to only allow people with a vaccination card inside their premises.

Only 12% of the Zimbabwean population has been vaccinated.

The country has so far recorded 126,000 cases in total, including 4,503 deaths.
